Kickstart Trainee Roles

The Kickstart Scheme is a 6-month paid job with a local employer providing an opportunity for people aged 16-24 to gain experience of working in some of the most exciting companies. We have a number of Kickstart roles available at Storyhouse for young people looking to gain experience in the arts and culture industry. 

As a trainee you will be allocated a mentor who will provide you with support including advice on being in a workplace, work-place safety and teamwork skills. You will be supported in each department to gain new skills and be given opportunities to practically apply them. You will also have opportunities for reflection and to plan what is next for you beyond the placement. 

Am I eligible? 

To be eligible you must:
Be in receipt of Universal Credit
Be aged 16-24 years old

What are the roles at Storyhouse?

How do I apply? 

If you are in receipt of Universal Credit and fall within the age bracket, you can ask your Work Coach at the JobCentre to refer you for any of our Kickstart trainee roles.
