The Digital World Presentation
There has been an intense focus in online education during the last year; many practitioners who had never envisioned teaching online have had no option but to embrace this new medium and there have been successes and failures along the way. After 8 years as an online educator (following 7 years previously as traditional school-based practitioner), I’ve had a head start in exploring how we can evolve digital pedagogy for online practices, particularly with children and young people.
This presentation will focus on students undertaking studies at secondary level with an emphasis on the specific pedagogies relevant for this age group. Drawing on my paper, ‘Finding the voice of students engaging in online alternative provision via digital data collection methods,’ and research undertaken since, I will explore and give worked examples of how we can adapt and improve the experiences of online education for students and highlight their views on what makes online learning work for them.
This presentation will take place on Zoom. After booking you will receive an email with the link and passcode a few days before the event.
