Following in the wake of films such as Beast and Gods Own CountryApostasy is another astonishingly accomplished debut by a young British director. Set among a community of devout Jehovah’s witnesses living in Oldham, Apostasy is a shattering and gripping family drama. When Luisa (Sacha Parkinson) leaves home for college she commits a ‘transgression’ that leaves her membership of the church in doubt. The recriminations of this threatens to tear her family and community relationships apart.

There will be 15-20 minutes of trailers and adverts before the screening (not included in duration).
