Directed by Daniel Edelstyn, Hilary Powell
Filmmakers and Artists Daniel Edelstyn and Hilary Powell lead a group of community activists in a project to eliminate over a million pounds of debt from their local area in East London. Inspired by international movement Strike Debt they create an art movement/project pushing for a national debt write-off as part of a reset for a fairer economic system. This mischievous documentary film follows their journey and their surprisingly successful campaign as it gains momentum and ends with them literally blowing-up a million pounds worth of debt whilst also raising significant funds for their local Food Bank, Youth Projects and Primary School. A hugely enjoyable documentary that delves into economics and how debt works delivered by a couple of true mavericks.
