Part of: THIS WEEKEND: Storyhouse Women

A devised performance using real voices.

A moving production inspired and created in partnership with young carers performed by Assemble Theatre Company.

There are an estimated 376,000 young adult carers in the UK today. Young carers are the forgotten workforce, hidden army and unsung heroes of Britain’s households and this story will celebrate and highlight these amazing young people. Behind Closed Doors will include the words of real young carers from the local area and beyond. The piece aims to raise awareness of young carers. The performance is used taking verbatim accounts of young carers in the local community and beyond.

Assemble Theatre Company is made up of students from Bishops Blue Coat High School under the Artistic Direction of Rob Otton.
