England, 1988 – Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government are about to pass a law stigmatizing gays and lesbians, forcing Jean, a PE teacher, to live a double life. As pressure mounts from all sides, the arrival of a new girl at school catalyses a crisis that will challenge Jean to her core.

On Saturday 25 February at 6pm we are delighted to welcome the film’s producer Hélène Sifre and Principal Lecturer in Physical Education at Leeds Beckett University, Sarah Squires for a Q&A following the screening.

Sarah Squires was one of the original teachers who has inspired the film and advised on the screenplay. She has written widely on sexual identity, physical education and sport.
