This session explores the power of spoken word. Working with a trained Speech and language expert from English Speaking Board.
During this fun, interactive session, children will learn about the value of their voice, they’ll be given a platform and an opportunity to be heard talking and listening about what matters most to them and the other members of the group.
Bring along something from home or chose from our big chest of interesting and exciting probs. Found an unusual stick, leaf or stone on your walk to Storyhouse? That’s special too, let’s talk about it!
Presentation time: your chance to take the stage and share in speaking and listening with others in small groups.
Parents: talk with curriculum experts Tara Jones and a senior college from English Speaking Board as they explain the importance of modelling and teaching spoken language and listening skills. Oracy is the ability to speak eloquently, to articulate ideas and thoughts, to influence through talking, to collaborate with peers and to express views confidently and appropriately
