As part of the Chester; Designed by Nature project in partnership with Wild Rumpus, one of the Park and Ride buses will be filled with cherry blossoms and we need your help to make them! This installation has been designed by Emma Thackham, an artist and art therapist working with the Cheshire and Warrington Carers Art Group, and they are aiming to fill the bus with 1290 cherry blossoms – one for each unpaid carer in Chester registered with the Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust. There are two types of blossom to make – crochet or fabric. Download the instructions on this page to make your cherry blossoms.

One of the key focuses of this project is sustainability, so we’re encouraging anyone who can to use materials they already have at home in cream, white or pale pink shades. You can drop your finished blossoms off at Storyhouse any time up to the 14th February to be included in the installation.
If you don’t have materials, or would like a bit of help making the blossoms, please come to one of our three sessions in Storyhouse and join us!
