This presentation by BEAMA presents an aggregated strategy made up of wide scope of opinions and solutions by electric heating system manufacturers in the UK. The presentation will review the path of dependency in determining the UK’s reluctance to depart from gas heating as the primary means of heating in the UK, and the need to recognise that Hydrogen is most likely never to have more than a peripheral role in domestic heating. It will review the UK’s failure to realise the significance of heat pumps as early as almost all European and Nordic countries, and why the UK is still not catching up.
