former corporate defence attorney Rob Bilott (Mark Ruffalo) switches sides to take on an environmental lawsuit against the DuPont chemical company. When a small scale farmer seeks help from Bilott to take action against the chemical giants because he suspects the local water has become contaminated Bilott finds himself in the position of whistleblower against the corporation he used to represent, endangering himself and his family in the process.
