Chester’s Disability Pride Parade is launching this year’s Kaleidoscope Week – everyone is welcome!

The parade is your chance to dance, parade, move, sing and raise awareness of the 14.1 million disabled people living in the UK.

Arrive from around 10.30am to say hello to friends, before the parade starts to move at 11am from outside Chester Town Hall.

The parade will move down Watergate Street, underneath the Eastgate Clock and start parading towards Grosvenor Park.

Bring your banners, flags, whistles, and drums to help make some noise!

This event is free and does not require a booking – simply come along and join the parade outside Chester Town Hall

On the day:

Music will be provided by Back Chat Brass an electrifying brass band from Leeds – watch them on YouTube here

Once we arrive at Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre there will be time to eat, relax, and use the toilets/changing space at the park pavilion.

Bring a picnic. There will be drinks and snacks available to buy.


The schedule:

10.30am – 11am – Meet at Chester Town Hall

11am – 11.45am – Back Chat Brass Band will lead the parade from Chester Town Hall to Grosvenor Park. Please note this is a 9 minute walk however we are allowing up to 45 mins. Road closures will be in place.

11.45am – 12.00pm – Paul Wilshaw (Actor and Learning Disability Activist) – Poetry Performance on The Other Stage, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre

12.00pm – 1pm – Lunch

1pm – 1.45pm – Back Chat Brass Band performance on The Other Stage, Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre

1.45pm – 2.30pm – Choir Performances
