Dr Alan Morris is an educator and co-founder of Sarah Galloway Associates, an architectural glass practice. He also creates his own work and collaborates with glass artist Sarah Galloway on large scale public art commissions.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to radically transform the workplace. Crucially, in order to undertake those tasks where the capability of AI is limited, it is likely that there will be an increase in demand for individuals possessing the core skills traditionally fostered in art schools, including creative thinking, self-awareness, team work and dexterity.

Whilst exploring the implications for teachers as traditional art and design curricula are compromised at a time when they may become increasingly important, Dr Alan Morris considers possible strategies that may be adopted to ensure the currency and quality of pedagogical practice.
