Explore the Arts is a fun, interactive programme where young people explore Storyhouse whilst completing an Arts Award portfolio and gaining a qualification.

Featuring a variety of workshops, a backstage tour and interviews with Storyhouse artists, this is a half-term extravaganza not to be missed!

This is a 3-day club develops young people’s creative and artistic abilities alongside their research and communication skills. The Bronze Award involves young people in the arts as creators and audience members, encouraging them to take their first steps towards leadership by sharing their learning with others.

Things to know:

• Developed for young people aged 11+.

•  Explore the Arts: 3 Day Club will take place on Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 April 2023. You must attend all three days to get your arts award.

• 10am until 4pm each day.

• Please provide a drink and lunch for your child

• If your child requires additional access needs to be met to able to participate in any of the course, please contact learning@storyhouse.com

• Parents and carers will be asked to complete a registration form ahead of the activity so that we can register all participants with Arts Award. This form will be sent out to attendees when places are confirmed.

What is an Arts Award?
Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it’s creative, valuable and accessible. Arts Award takes young people on a creative journey, exploring the arts world, discovering their potential as artists and developing leadership skills whilst gaining a recognised qualification along the way. How much does Explore the Arts cost to attend?

The 3-day Explore the Arts programme is priced at £67.75 (£60.95 for Storyhouse members). This includes moderation and certificate costs for the Arts Award qualification.

We have a limited number of funded HAF (Holiday Activities Fund) spaces available. Young people with a HAF place will have their lunch provided each day.

Who is eligible for HAF funded places?
Children aged 5-11 years whose parents/guardians are in receipt of:
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
• Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
• Universal Credit – (if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year)

Who will be running Explore the Arts: 2 Day Club?
Storyhouse’s Jacob, Lottie and Mollie. In term-time, they run sessions for Storyhouse at primary and secondary schools across Cheshire and North Wales.
