Learn something new in 2022, with free Flamenco dance sessions!
Flamenco comes from Andalucía in Southern Spain. Gypsy communities there blended the Arabic, Jewish and Christian musics of mediaeval Al Andalus with the syncopated rhythms of Africa to produce the unique song, music and dance of Flamenco – recognised by UNESCO as part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Chester dance group, Deva Flamenco, are putting on four free taster sessions in January. Join us for any of the sessions in the Garret Theatre.
Sunday 9 January 2pm – 3pm & 3.30pm – 4.30pm
Sunday 16 January 2pm – 3pm & 3.30pm – 4.30pm
Deva Flamenco are also offering free beginner classes in January. Classes will be held at New Scene, (off Newton Lane) in Chester on Mondays 10, 17, 24 & 31 January, 6pm – 6.50pm. You can then stay to join the regular class at 7pm. You can find more information at devaflamenco.com.
