Part of: Christmas at Storyhouse

Directed by Doug Liman
Starring Sarah Polley, Katie Holmes, Desmond Askew, Scott Wolf, Timothy Olyphant, James Duval, Taye Diggs

In this anarchic cult classic, cash-strapped Ronna (Sarah Polley) is working at a supermarket checkout at Christmas time. Mistaken for a drug-dealing colleague, she spies an opportunity to make rent by selling fake pills with the help of her friend Claire (Katie Holmes).

Over the course of this one fateful night, Ronna’s plan spirals out of control, and the story flips perspectives between characters whilst the camera hurtles through raves, car chases, and Christmas dinners to an iconic 90s soundtrack.

Directed by Doug Liman, known for The Bourne Identity and his 1996 surprise hit Swingers, the film is a refreshing, fast-paced dark comedy that acts as the perfect antidote to some of the more sickly-sweet films that the holiday season has to offer.
