Winner of the Toronto Film Festival People’s Choice Award – Green Book looks like an awards season favourite.

Set in 1962 driver Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen) is hired to chauffeur African- American concert pianist Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) on a tour of the Deep South. Aware that they may face prejudice and possible violence based on the colour of Shirley’s skin they rely on ‘The Green Book’ a guide to safe places for African-Americans to frequent.

Director Peter Farrelly, best known for the crowd-pleasing comedies of the 1990s such as Something About Mary, brilliantly works with the more serious subject of racial inequality and division to create a smart and ultimately uplifting story of an unlikely friendship.

There will be 15-20 minutes of trailers and adverts before the screening (not included in duration), except morning screenings, which will start at the advertised time.
