Get up, get active and advocate! Now more than ever, the importance and critical role community plays has become apparent. With 2020 highlighting the long-standing issues of racial justice, this event will leave with you feeling reflective but ready to take action.

How do we remedy the urgency of justice with the healing of the already done trauma? How do we care for those affected by racial trauma and activate for others who can’t continue to fight? In this powerful panel rather than the focus being on trauma, the panel will be exploring the exciting future that lies ahead as we heal and get active.

The event will be hosted by Head of Editorial at Black Ballad Jendella Benson. The panel will consist of academics:

Derek Owusu – Author and Desmond Elliot Prize Winner 2020
Jade Bentil – Academic and author of upcoming Book Rebel Citizen (2022)
Rosanna Amaka – Author of Book of Echoes
Guilaine Kinouani – Founder of Race Reflections
