An afternoon of personal stories from members of the Silver Rainbows.
Hear a range of fascinating personal stories told first hand. Members of the panel will answer questions like: “When did you first know you were gay?”; “What was it like to be illegal?”.
This event was first produced for Chester Literature Festival 2021 where it was for some, the first ever time they had told their story publicly, one panelist even came out to his family the week before the event. The panelists are now inspired even more to reach other people who may be lonely and isolated and want to find a support group.
Additionally, the group are looking for artistic people who would be interested in producing a creative response to their stories for example theatre, film, dance or music to feature in future events and projects.
If you want to hear the stories of older gay people with a fascinating history behind them (some were gay when it was illegal in the UK) then please come along to this afternoon of personal stories with an opportunity to ask questions and meet the panelists.
