English Touring Opera returns to Chester with two operas never before performed by the company, featuring love, comedy and epic tragedy. Both operas are performed on period instruments in partnership with the much-praised Old Street Band.

Intrigue, politics, romance and lost luggage all play their part in Rossini’s great comic opera, Il Viaggio a Reims in a new production directed by Valentina Ceschi, as travellers from all over Europe find themselves stranded at a provincial inn on their way to a great coronation.

There will be a FREE pre show talk before this performance. Click here to find out more and reserve your place.

English Touring Opera will also be performing, Lucrezia Borgia click here to find out more
