Imagining Utopias is a community project organised by Aberystwyth University.

We’re exploring how creative writing can impact our understanding of the utopian ideal. By looking at ‘perfect’ communities of the Industrial Revolution to alternative technology centres of the present, we discuss how utopias have changed throughout history.

In this workshop, you’ll be designing your own ideal town and writing stories set within it. What does a perfect town need? How can you make it sustainable? What can you do to make your own local area a little more utopian? This workshop is a free session for creative thinkers of all abilities – no prior writing skill necessary.
