Welcome back to Storyhouse. We put customer safety at the top of everything we do, however at this time that means a little more than making sure you don’t get struck inadvertently by an actor! It now also means keeping 2 metres apart and wearing a face covering whilst inside the building, except when eating or drinking. We will be asking all our customer to both enjoy themselves and to stick to some easy to follow guidelines. Find out how we’re keeping you safe here.
Directed by: Mathieu Kassovitz
Starring: Vincent Cassel, Hubert Koundé, Saïd Taghmaoui
Based on real events, La Haine focuses on three friends over the course of one day in the housing projects of suburban Paris in the aftermath of a riot. With tension in the air and the police on constant surveillance, it’s not long before prejudice and hostility turns into violence, with tragic consequences…
Mathieu Kassovitz’s bold and inventive film, beautifully shot by Pierre Aïm, is 25 years old this year, but in terms of its themes of social and economic divide and urban discontent, it feels just as fresh and relevant now.
A note when you’re booking…
