In this lecture, Dr Graham Atkin of the English Department will consider the way that Shakespeare frames his famous battle-of-the-sexes comedy – establishing and then exploring themes of hierarchy and identity, art and illusion, obedience and deceit, while communicating a strong sense of theatrical self-awareness.

Lunchtime Lectures is a collaboration between Storyhouse and the University of Chester, providing an open platform for debate on a range of topics and fascinating subjects.

They take place on the third Tuesday of each month.
