An issue-film about the human cost of corporate negligence. Notable ex-war photographer W. Eugene Smith (Johnny Depp) is down on his luck when he manages to persuade his editor at Life Magazine (Bill Nighy) to send him back to Japan. There he uncovers and documents the devastating effect of mercury poisoning in coastal communities.
