Joyously off-the-wall comedy from The Mighty Boosh’s Julian Barrett and co-writer Simon Farnaby. Barratt stars as washed-up actor Richard Thorncroft whose career peaked back in the 80s with a hit detective show Mindhorn set on the Isle of Man. Decades later a deluded man-on-the-run demands the fictional Mindhorn returns to the Isle of Man to solve the crime of which he is accused. Thorncroft is forced to reprise his role for the purpose of bringing the criminal to justice. A loving pastiche of old-style detective shows of the era bought to life by a superb supporting cast (Harriet Walter, Simon Callow and Steve Coogan). Mindhorn is like Austin Powers meets Alan Partridge Alpha Papa, with a bit of Bergerac thrown in– a sure-fire cult comedy hit for years to come.
