Lunchtime Lectures – Nonsense and NaughtinessWith the University of Chester Running from
Next event: Tuesday 15 June at 12pm
Playful and silly, yet wonderfully life-affirming, Shakespeare wrote The Merry Wives of Windsor at Queen Elizabeth I’s request, in fourteen days, as she demanded to see Falstaff resurrected. Shakespeare presented the bouncing knight in love with not one, but two feisty wives of Windsor, Mistresses Ford and Page. Dr Graham Atkin explores Shakespeare’s irreverent comedy.
Lunchtime Lectures is a collaboration between Storyhouse and the University of Chester, providing an open platform for debate on a range of topics and fascinating subjects.
They take place on the third Tuesday of each month.
