Our second ever Kitchen Classic in Chester’s best classical acoustic, and with food and drink attached….

Faure’s incidental music to Maeterlinck’s classic play Pelleas et Mellisande is one of his most popular works, written at breakneck speed for the stage production in 1893.  The play hit a nerve and inspired some amazing music by Debussy, Schoenberg & Sibelius.

The wonderful symphonic suite from Gershwin’s epoch defining Porgy and Bess is just that, a continuous orchestral suite of the show’s biggest hits, arranged for orchestra and made popular by the hugely talented Ian Farrington.  Gerswhin’s own suite, Catfish Row, missed out all the best numbers, so this is a little correction on behalf of history!

Price of the ticket includes a drink and Levantine nibbles* from The Kitchen, served from 7.00pm – 7.50pm.

*more than a  bite, less than your tea!
