Welcome back to Storyhouse. We put customer safety at the top of everything we do, however at this time that means a little more than making sure you don’t get struck inadvertently by an actor! It now also means keeping 2 metres apart and wearing a face covering on the move inside the building. We will be asking all our customer to both enjoy themselves and to stick to some easy to follow guidelines. Find out how we’re keeping you safe here.

The latest from filmmaker Céline Sciamma (Girlhood) tells the story of female Portrait painter Marianne (Noémie Merlant) who, after being sent to an isolated island in Bretagne at the end of the eighteenth century, is obliged to paint the wedding portrait of Héloïse (Adèle Haenel), a reluctant bride to be who has just left the convent. Intimacy and attraction grow between the two women but their freedom is short-lived.
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is the winner of the both the Queer Palm and Best Screenplay at Cannes 2019.
