Starring: Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Turner-Smith, Chloe Sevingy, Flea

Queen & Slim is the hotly anticipated directorial debut feature film from visionary two-time Grammy winner Melina Matoukas and trailblazing Emmy-winning writer Lena Waithe (Netflix’s Master of None).

Oscar nominated British actor Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) and Jodie Turner-Smith (The Neon Demon) star as a couple out on a forgettable first date who, after an altercation with the police, become reliant on each other for survival across America as the pair quickly and unwittingly become symbols for trauma, terror, grief and pain for African Americans across the country.

With a narrative riffing off the classic Bonnie and Clyde story, Queen & Slim is a modern protest film that tackles head-on the pain of systemic racism and the continued police brutality towards African Americans in the States whilst telling a powerful and thoroughly modern-day black love story.

The Queen & Slim screening on Saturday 22 February at 3.45pm will be introduced by Black In Fashion. There will be a short presentation exploring how fashion and film are interlinked with reference to Queen & Slim and other similar films. Black In Fashion is a platform dedicated to guiding young Black people in creating valuable connections within the fashion industry across the North of the UK.
PLUS don’t miss your opportunity to WIN an official Queen & Slim poster signed by Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Turner-Smith, Melina Matsoukas and Lena Waithe in our event giveaway.
