Part of: Storyhouse Languages

An event for multilingual families and those interested in raising bilingual children! Chiara Lisowski will be leading an informal discussion around bilingualism/multilingual upbringing of children. This session will be interactive so your own stories, experiences and tips will be more than welcome. This is also an opportunity for you and your child to meet other people from Chester’s international community.

This session has been devised and created by community member Chiara Lisowski. Chiara Lisowski is passionately multilingual. Coming from an international household, she grew up speaking Italian with her mum and hearing her paternal grandparents speak Polish. Her love for different cultures and languages stems from this very upbringing! Chiara studied Music with Italian studies at The University of Birmingham then went on to teach English in Brazil for a couple of years, where she learnt Portuguese. Work brought her back to the UK where she met her Spanish husband, so Spanish was next on the list to learn. Together Chiara and her husband have a daughter who they are raising bilingually. Chiara is a driven, resilient and honest person. She is an outspoken and passionate feminist who loves with her whole heart and embraces all the ups and downs of her life.
