Storyhouse Reading Hacks are a group of 14-24 year olds volunteering throughout the summer to run activities for children.

In yet more Summer Reading Challenge fun, every afternoon throughout the summer holidays Storyhouse reading hacks will be in the den running activities on the theme of books, reading and mischief making!

15 August
2-3pm 
Lucy, Caitlyn  and Grace    Design a Book Cover!
Whoever chooses this activity will bring their current reading book or the one they’ve just finished, and design an alternate book cover thinking about the characters and plot. On the back they can write a blurb and rate it with a star rating.  Suitable for 5+

Billy, Dylan and Zak  Draw a new book cover for a book they have read and drawing a character based on their description in a book.   
18 August

Come and join our favourite mischief maker Peter Rabbit for a unique retelling of this classic Beatrix Potter story with puppets and props. With the chance to create your own Peter Rabbit art. 
28 August 1-3pm  Faye and Cat  The activity is a character profile where the group members create a character or write about a character from a book they have already read and answer questions on the sheet about them.  They can label their drawing as well. For ages 9+  
30 August 11-12pm Ruth, Kayleigh and Elena  Peter Rabbit Puppet Show
