Two of the most exciting and outstanding talents of their generation come together in one unmissable recital.
Cellist Hannah Roberts and violinist Callum Smart both learned their craft at the world-famous Yehudi Menuhin School – where Roberts even had the opportunity to play alongside, and learn from, the great man himself. The BBC Young Musician of the Year finalist and principal cellist of Manchester Camerata later studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she is now a tutor.
Meanwhile Callum Smart was just 13 when he won the strings category of the 2010 BBC Young Musicians Competition. He went on to become the top European prize-winner at the Menuhin Competition and now enjoys critical acclaim for his exuberantly lyrical and accomplished interpretations.
This recital programme includes Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu’s harmonically sprightly and lyrical Duo for Violin and Cello No. 2, and work by Kodály.
