If you’re planning to do something in 2020 – try Shared Reading at Storyhouse.

Shared Reading is a simple idea with a powerful impact. By reading aloud and sharing thoughts and feelings, we bring people together and books, poems and plays to life. Thousands of people now get together across the UK each week, in prisons, care homes and the community, to enjoy literature in this way and to connect with others.

The Reader is now looking for volunteers to visit an older person in the Chester area each week to read aloud and talk with them about what they’ve read. If you think you could be part of this and make a difference to someone, please join us for a taster session at Storyhouse on the 4th or 11th February from 10:30am – 12pm.

Please email volunteer@thereader.org.uk to book your place. For more information click here.
