Shiva Baby is a darkly playful comedy of chaos about a young bisexual woman grappling with tradition and independence over the course of one climactic day-long shiva, a Jewish gathering of friends and family during a time of mourning. Featuring a standout lead performance from emerging actor-comedian Rachel Sennott, the acclaimed feature debut from writer-director Emma Seligman is bold, modern filmmaking at its most daring, and hilarious.

This screening is in partnership with Chester Film Society. Chester Film Society was started in 1970 to screen international films and documentaries that struggled to get a cinematic release. Across 2021 Storyhouse will be screening regular monthly films selected by members of Chester Film Society. Everyone is welcome.  For more information about the society please go to www.chesterfilmsociety.co.uk
