Sit back and enjoy an evening of original compositions and arrangements of classical music, all with a French feel. Expect melodies that move you performed by passionate musicians in an intimate setting.

Debussy’s charming Children’s Corner suite will be inventively reimagined to give it a fresh and improvised feel in the concert led by Gwilym Simcock and Rob Buckland. North Wales-born Simcock studied jazz piano at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with first class honours and the Principal’s Prize.

Since then the Mercury Music Prize-nominated composer and pianist has forged a boundary-blurring career in both the jazz and classical worlds, moving effortlessly between the two with what has been described as “harmonic sophistication”. He and internationally-acclaimed saxophonist and composer Rob Buckland, hailed as one of the most distinctive and versatile saxophonists of his generation, will be joined by a string quartet led by
Simmy Singh.
