A relaxed drop-in event open to everyone to enjoy some music, storytelling and performance.
Feel free to bring a picnic and a blanket. and the bar will be open too. Performance will take place within the Open Air Festival site or under the tipi tents.
Performances will include Portuguese stories for children led by Chester’s Brazilian Community; performances and music.

Du Bertolai and Ton Silva are musicians from São Paulo, Brazil. They met each other in Chester, where they developed a good friendship and discovered a strong music affinity because of their music background in Brazil. Both started their professional career around 2005, playing in many venues all around Brazil, and some countries in Europe. Du is an acoustic guitarist and singer, Ton plays bass, and together they bring the Brazilian music soul, playing the best styles of music that Brazil offers, such as mpb, forró, samba and samba-rock. 50 min set

Brazilian Storytelling for young children that are bilingual or are interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese. Community leaders Anna and Diana have learnt that lots of families are struggling with passing on their native language to their children, so they are leading this storytelling sessions to help them learn but also to interact with people that are going through the exact same situation.

Chiara Lisowski and Matt Pike Together they’ll be joined by Du Bertolai to play a mix of Spanish, Colombian, Italian and Brazilian covers. Chiara is a singer who loves trying out different styles and Matt is a versatile guitarist who has been playing for many years.

Capoeira is an exciting Brazilian art form which incorporates elements of dance, martial arts, acrobatics and music. Rafael Braga Araujo known by capoeira community as Piolho, his capoeira name. A Brazilian based in Chester, capoeira master who has dedicated 27 years to this beautiful art. Piolho will be demonstrating along with some of his students.

Learn how to make an origami birds with Yumi from the Nipponkai Japanese organisation. The paper crane is a symbol of peace, love, and hope, and healing during challenging times.
