Join the Summer Reading Challenge at Storyhouse!

Are you aged 4-11 or know someone who is? The Summer Reading Challenge is a national initiative to challenge you to read six books during the school summer holidays. If you sign up, you can take out any library book you fancy – story books, fact books, joke books, picture books…anything!

This year’s theme is Animal Agents.

How will it work?

If you take on the challenge, you’ll get:

· A free foldout presentation pack upon joining;
· Two collector’s stickers and a fold-up game after reading two books (any two books: although we encourage them to be library books and not too easy or quick – it is a challenge!);
· Two more collector’s cards and a doorhanger after reading two more books;
· The two final collector’s stickers and a keyring after reading the final six books.

Each challenge completer will then be invited to a special award’s ceremony where they will receive their very own certificate and medal!

What else is happening?

We’ve also got a range of (free) Summer Reading Challenge activities!

· Tom Palmer at Storyhouse
Tom Palmer, the author three Puffin football series, Football Academy, Foul Play and The Squad will be at Storyhouse on Saturday 29 July. Booking is essential.

· Chester Zoo Safari Rangers
Fun, hands-on, interactive and using an incredible collection of artefacts, this is a fun show with no live animals throughout August. Numbers are limited so please book your place in advance.

· Animal Takeover

How do I sign up?

You can sign in by dropping into Storyhouse any day of the week between 9am-7pm. Don’t forget, you need to be a library member to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge. You can do this in advance by joining online here or when you drop in to sign up for the challenge.
