Testify is an open mic poetry night that runs the first Tuesday of every month in Chester which aims to be inclusive as well as inspiring.

Testify is the place to showcase your poetry, prose, peeves, politics and passions. Marginalised voices are encouraged!

Open mic nights can be intimidating so assistance will be provided to those who encounter barriers to performing such as anxiety and accessibility issues.

There is no pressure to perform and those who just want to watch are very welcome. Come as you are and speak your truth.

For Kaleidoscope, Testify is bringing an open mic special with award-winning poet Jackie Hagan headlining the night.

To sign up for a 5 minute open mic space email testifychester@gmail.com

All performance should identify as disabled. It does not matter whether these disabilities are visible or invisible. We do not require proof of disability.

You are not required to memorise your poetry, you are welcome to read from the page. There will be a BSL interpreter on the evening and we can adjust the
lighting to those with sensory needs.

All style of poetry are welcome but please give content warning if you feel the material may be triggering.
