Directed by Peter Greenaway
Starring Janet Suzman, Anthony Higgins, Anne Louise Lambert, Neil Cunningham, Hugh Fraser

The 40th Anniversary 4K reissue of Peter Greenaway’s stylised, erotic, and witty country house murder mystery.

In rural Wiltshire at the end of the 17th century, Mrs Herbert (Janet Suzman) hires artist Mr Neville (Anthony Higgins) to produce a series of drawings of her country house as a gift for her inattentive husband, to be carried out while he is away on business.

With extravagant costumes, elegantly barbed dialogue, visuals influenced by Caravaggio, Vermeer and Rembrandt and with Michael Nyman’s Purcell-inspired score permeating throughout, The Draughtman’s Contract  is a work of cinematic art unlike anything seen before.
