A storytelling, with magic, music and audience participation, of David’s world-famous play/book/tv series, featuring Herr Von Cuckoo, Mr Salt, Miss Pepper, the Old (Tea) Bag, the ever-hungry Sleek the Mouse and, of course, THE GINGERBREAD MAN!

“David kept over 225 children (4-9 year olds) spellbound for nearly an hour” Abracadabra Magazine

Perhaps best-remembered from his BBC tv performing days on JACKANORY, PLAY AWAY and TRICKY BUSINESS, David Wood OBE is also ‘the national children’s dramatist’ (The Times).  His stage adaptations include Roald Dahl’s THE BFG, FANTASTIC MR FOX and JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, Judith Kerr’s THE TIGER WHO CAME TO TEA, Dick King-Smith’s BABE, THE SHEEP-PIG  and the Olivier Award-winning GOODNIGHT MISTER TOM, from Michelle Magorian’s classic novel.

David’s version of THE GINGERBREAD MAN started life as a play in 1976 – ‘the perfect children’s play’ (TIME OUT), since when it has played worldwide from Birmingham to Beijing, from Torquay to Tokyo, from Darlington to Dubai!  It has been seen in the West End many times.  As a story it was successfully published by Pavilion Books and by Puffin.  The tv animation series is now available on DVD
