Director: Dennis Hopper
Stars: Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda, Julie Adams, Toni Basil, Daniel Ades

Co-written by Hopper and Rebel Without A Cause screenwriter Stewart Stern, The Last Movie follows a Hollywood movie crew attempting to make a Western in a Peruvian Village. When the film wraps stuntman Kansas (Hopper) decides to stay on in Peru and begin a journey of self-discovery. Very much a follow up to Hopper’s counter-culture classic Easy Rider, the film didn’t reach the same level of either critical or commercial success (despite winning awards at the 1971 Venice Film Festival). In fact, The Last Movie almost ended Hopper’s career and for many years lay unappreciated – now a chance to re-evaluate with this 4K restoration – innovative and artful, if sometimes self-indulgent The Last Movie captures a generation searching for meaning as the 60s fade into the 70s. Music is provided by Kris Kristofferson.

There will be 15-20 minutes of trailers and adverts before the screening (not included in duration).
