Directed by Alex Holmes

From Bafta-nominated filmmaker Alex Holmes (Maiden)The Last Rider is an edge-of-your-seat story of the greatest cycle race in history, the 1989 Tour De France.

Greg LeMond is the only male US cyclist to win the Tour De France and is considered by many to be the greatest American cyclist and one of the all-time greats of recent history. Holmes recounts how LeMond overcame trauma and near-death to win the 1989 race and stage one of the most inspiring comebacks in sporting history.

This screening is in partnership with the Active Travel Festival on Sunday 18 June 2023. Aimed at all ages and abilities its purpose is to promote walking, cycling and wheeling as the natural choice for local journeys – to school, work or the shops – which benefits both our health and the environment. Other activities are happening at the Festival Village which is situated at Castle Square, Lower Car Park, CH1 2DN. For more information visit www.atfest.uk
