Christmas with Friends: The Performance of Yuletide NostalgiaWith the University of Chester Running from
Last event: Thursday 3 December 2020 at 3pm
The 1990s was a simpler time. The Cold War had ended, leading some to proclaim the ‘end of history’ as an apparently trouble-free peace reigned over much of the Western world. Many people look back on that time (in much the same way that they think of Christmases gone by) with sweet nostalgia, and what better way to indulge in performative sentimentality than through a whimsical consideration of Yuletide rituals in the popular 90s sitcom, Friends.
