The government have advised that, whilst stopping short of forcing theatres and cinemas to close, people should stay away, and so Storyhouse will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 17 March. We are not yet sure how long this will be for, but this does affect a number of events, shows and screenings.
This film is no longer planned to go ahead, and we are working to see if we can find an alternative date. We will be in touch with all bookers as quickly as we can with more information.
If you have not heard from us by midnight on Friday 20 March, please click here.
We are humbled by the support of our staff, volunteers and wider community and thank you for your patience as we work through each event and contact all customers. There is no need to get in touch with us.
Remember to stay safe and look after each other.
Directed by: Emilio Estevez
Starring: Emilio Estevez, Taylor Schilling, Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater, Jena Malone.
An unusually bitter Arctic blast has made its way to downtown Cincinnati. At odds with library officials over how to handle the extreme weather event, the patrons turn the building into a homeless shelter for the night by staging an “Occupy” sit in. What begins as an act of civil disobedience becomes a stand off with police.
Written and directed by Emilio Estevez this comedy drama is redolent of a good old-fashioned Frank Capra movie whilst tackling some of today’s most challenging issues, homelessness and mental illness. Set inside that last bastion of social democracy – The Library – it is no wonder this film comes highly recommended by the Storyhouse Library team.
