The astounding true story of twin sisters who only communicated with one another. Isolated in the small town of Haverfordwest in West Wales, the two created rich fantasy worlds in which to escape – realised on screen by director Agnieszka Smoczynska who blends animation with the live action to capture some of the stories the girls create.
Following a series of teenage petty crimes the girls are sent to Broadmoor hospital with life sentences. Letitia Wright and Tamara Lawrence deliver exceptional performances in this highly original and spellbinding film that takes an unusual spin on social injustice.
