A follow up to his Palme D’or winning Winter Sleep, The Wild Pear Tree is another masterful and visually stunning family drama from Nuri Bilge Ceylan.

Sinan is a recent graduate about to embark on a career as a primary school teacher. However, his true ambition is to publish his book – The Wild Pear Tree – set in his hometown, a beautiful rural village in the northwest of the country. Returning home after completing his first term as a teacher Sinan clashes with his debt-laden father whose financial situation threatens to thwart the younger man’s ambition.
