Every Society that enforces the death penalty needs people to kill other people. Four men are faced with an unthinkable but simple choice. Whatever they decide, it will directly or indirectly corrade themselves, their relationships, and their entire lives. In four thematically connected episodes, Mohammad Rassoulof tells their stories, which inevitable are also the stories of the people who surround them.

Winner of the 2020 Berlin Golden Bear Award.

This screening is in partnership with Chester Film Society. Chester Film Society was started in 1970 to screen international films and documentaries that struggled to get a cinematic release. Across 2021 Storyhouse will be screening regular monthly films selected by members of Chester Film Society.
