A truly contemporary coming of age story exploring how children look at their identity while growing up and the world around them. 2011’s French drama film tells a heart-warming tale of Laure and their journey of discovering their new city, as well as who they are. After becoming the new kid in town and seeing a group of boys playing outside the widow, Laure meets Lisa and when asked for their name Laure skips a beat, and responds ‘Mikael’.
The film screening comes with an optional ‘Clothes Swap’ from 4.30pm in the Book Pod. Bring along an unwanted item and try something new.
“Tomboy is an extremely important film to showcase as it highlights so many important issues. It’s about growing up, self discovery and accepting who we are. Gives us an insight on the journey of childhood as we discover our own identity, as well as how we all can become more accepting of other people, and our children, no matter who they are or who they grow up to be.” — Sam Lawson, Young Programmer.
