We’re absolutely delighted to be able to announce that Transatlantic Sessions, the celebrated folk mega-event featuring some of the most famous names in folk music from the US, UK, and Ireland, is to take place at Storyhouse, this coming February. This is the 7th version of this internationally celebrated event, founded, by the sessions’ house band leader Aly Bain, in 1993.

Expect to see a host of folk superstars step up to the mic and produce some truly magical moments together. Confirmed names so far include Irish legend Paul Brady, and US multi-instrumentalist and singer Dirk Powell. Joining them will be the earthy, creole and cajun infused Haitian-American Leyla McCalla (Our Native Daughters and Carolina Chocolate Drops); also Scotland’s renowned Siobhan Miller.

All are accompanied by a band who are just as equally celebrated, led by Shetland fiddle legend Aly Bain, dobro genius Jerry Douglas, and featuring John Doyle, Daniel Kimbro, Michael McGoldrick, Russ Barenberg, John McCusker, Donald Shaw and James Mackintosh.
