Delivered by volunteers from Cheshire and Chester Branch National Autistic Society

The Too Much Information campaign challenges the myths, misconceptions and stereotypes that mean 79% of autistic people feel socially isolated.

The campaign is in response to Autistic people and their families describing the “five big things” that they wanted the public to understand.

These included that they need extra time to process information, experience anxiety in social situations and when unexpected changes happen, find sensory stimuli such as noise, smells and bright lights distressing and that autistic individuals can experience meltdown or shutdown.

The session aims to increase awareness of these issues, as well as autism understanding.
