Jesus Christ is one of the most influential figures in human history, but what can the historian really know about this first century figure? Are the Gospels reliable accounts of Jesus’ life and teaching? Did he perform miracles? Did he rise from the dead? Indeed, did Jesus even exist?
In this lecture, Paul Middleton, Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of Chester, will separate history from legend in order to address these hotly debated questions, and reveal what can be known about the man whose death two thousand years ago would change the world.
Lunchtime Lectures is a collaboration between Storyhouse and the University of Chester, providing an open platform for debate on a range of topics and fascinating subjects.
They take place on the third Tuesday of each month.
Our Lunchtime Lectures are videoed and archived for future viewing, by attending you give permission for us to do so – thanks!
